It’s a dieselly larger than my twingo thing. I’ll post some pictures when it gets delivered but it looks very similar to this (don’t wana post pics from the ad because I’m flipping the car and don’t want any reverse googling going on.)
It’s a 2010 (60 plate) 2.0 tdci Ford Mondeo. 90k miles and in decent shape. The price? £2850.
Of course at that price there are issues. There is a dpf fault and one rear tail light lens needs replacing. But even so at such a low price I should be in profit. I won’t have it long but I’ll be enjoying it while I do. It’s a really nice car.
Also don’t worry, le Twingo isn’t going anywhere.

The OPs one is the one before the current Mondeo which is the same as your Fusion.
Your on second generation Fusion which to us is fifth generation Mondeo.

Friend bought the same car as this in silver about three years ago on a 59 plate. Loves it. Takes everything he needs it take and drives smoothly, he’s taken it to Poland a few times and no issues.

There’ve been lots of Mondeos. That’s the late 2000s one.
The first one was sold in North America under some other name which escapes me.

It’s a biggish car with relatively high miles and many second hand buyers are going for something smaller so the demand for something like this will be low. If it had been petrol it would have been worth even less.

Hm.. let’s put it this way; I would never get a Diesel powered car that size. Even though they’re not all that bad.

Is there much profit in it at that price? I thought that’s about what they’re worth. Probably I’m off by a few years on the same shape. I prefer flipping cars that have stopped depreciating and started appreciating, because that way even if you get it a bit wrong the increased value makes up for it- and because it means you don’t have to worry about years as much...
When you’ve got it fixed up, let me know how much you’re looking for. I might be interested - or it might be too much not to spend on something more interesting :)

They go for upwards of 4k in this shape and age. Saw one dreamer listing at £5500. I’ll be looking for somewhere around 3500-4000 if I can get it 100%. Depends on the market really.

Funnily enough I have my eye on a Reliant Scimitar with the ford v6 for sale nearby. It’s a good runner with recent paintjob and has been up for sale a while so they might respond to some haggling. If that’s still there when the Ford goes I might be tempted.

Oh right? I nearly bought a Scimmy a while back. Still not sure if I dodged a bullet or missed a great opportunity.
Aren’t they all Frod V6s as stock? I seem to recall the difference is between the Essex and Cologne engines, but they’re both Ford.

That’s awesome. If it was blue I’d accuse you of buying my co-worker’s former car. He just PX’d a similar spec Mondeo for a Kia SUV.

Don’t think so. The SE4 originally came with a straight six, but no 4 pots. Judging by the rather leisurely performance even of the V6s, I think it would have been way too slow.
ScimitarWeb is a good resource for all things Scimmy. A quick look just now suggests prices have gone up a bit beyond what I reckon they’re worth.
Currently I’m looking at curvy-shape MR2s, because they seem very cheap.
